Tessa Thompson wears plenty of '50s and '60s vintage looks for her role as Sylvie in Amazon Prime's Sylvie's Love, but when it came to doing press for the film, she shopped the high fashion runways. With the help of her stylists, Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, Thompson has been pushing fashion boundaries since 2014, when she first worked with the duo for her Selma premiere, breaking onto the scene in an asymmetrical, beaded and mesh Rodarte number.
Thompson confirmed she connected with Bannerman and McDonald via Zoom to coordinate her outfits for her latest virtual press "tour," if you will, and each relaxed ensemble is more stylish than the last. In fact, we're wondering if, as the fashion world continues to shift, joining talkshows and walking the carpet will be an opportunity for celebrities to flex their personal style rather than show off couture just for the heck of it. Thompson makes the case for us to head in that direction, and we can't wait to see how she continues to show off her street style on the 'gram.
Ahead, see her rock everything from cherry red David Koma London separates, finished with a pair of biker shorts, to the most luxurious looking co-ord set we've ever seen: an ivory knit set with woven tassels that she completed with white booties.
