Why Yes, of Course Michelle Obama Served Looks at Joe Biden's Inauguration

No shocker here: Michelle Obama looked positively divine at the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Wednesday. With help from stylist Meredith Koop, the former first lady chose to wear a light-plum suit by Sergio Hudson, a Black designer originally from South Carolina whose work is designed in Los Angeles. The 'fit featured high-waist, wide-leg pants, a cozy turtleneck, and a floor-length coat, all tied together with a statement-making gold-hardware belt. She accessorized with black suede Stuart Weitzman boots, a black Christy Rilling face mask, and black leather gloves - oh, and her stunning curly hairstyle certainly qualifies as an additional accessory in and of itself. Just look at that volume!

If the reddish-purple hue of Michelle's outfit looks familiar to you, that's because she wore a similar color to Donald Trump's inauguration four years ago, rocking an A-line Jason Wu dress. Talk about a full-circle moment!

This isn't the first time Michelle has repped Sergio Hudson for all to see - remember that purple power suit and sparkly bustier she wowed us with while promoting her memoir back in 2019? Yep, that was custom-made by Sergio. And how about that sequined midnight-blue jumpsuit she wore at the Essence Festival that same year? Mhm, that was by Sergio, too. We have no choice but to stan her brand loyalty.

Ahead, take an all-angles look at Michelle's glorious monochromatic Inauguration Day outfit, then learn all the details about Jill Biden's blue dress and matching coat from the momentous day.
